Day 01 :
PARO -> JELI DZONG
Day 02 : JELI DZONG -> JANGCHULAKHA
Day 03 : JANGCHULAKHA -> JIMILANGTSO
Day 04 : JIMILANGTSO -> PHAJODING
Day 05 : PHAJODING -> THIMPHU/PARO

Day 01 :

PARO - JELE DZONG (Approx. 10 Kms)

The trek starts appropriately above the Paro Dzong and is a short trek today. Starting from the watch tower (National Museum), the path winds its way slowly and evenly upwards through the forest towards the ridge line. As you walk, behind you the views of highly cultivated Paro valley below, the Ugyen Pelri Palace and the Paro Dzong itself has a wonderful view. Overnight camp at Jeli Dzong, this is a large Monastery, it seats astride a ridge which affords dramatic views of the valley on both side and the Himalayas to the north. Mt. Jumolhari can also be seen. (Camp altitude 11,600 ft)
Day 02 :

JELE DZONG - JANGCHULAKHA (Approx. 10 Kms)

The path now follows a ridge for a short while and then descends into the forest. It then follows a snake-like root on rather magical paths, along mountain sides and through thick alpine forest and rhododendron trees (with flowers during the month of April and May). You are also likely to come across yak herders at your campsite. Overnight camp. (Altitude: 11,900 ft).
Day 03 :

JANGCHULAKHA - JIMILANGTSO (Approx. 11 Kms)

From the camp at Jangchulakha the path ascends to gain the ridge and then traverses along it, first one side and then the other, again wonderful mountain views. Eventually we cross a small pass and circle round, until above Jemilangtsho (lake). This is a large beautiful lake stocked with trout. Over night camp. (Altitude 12,160 ft).
Day 04 :

JIMILANGTSO - PHAJODING (5hours)

Again a lovely walk in glorious high mountains, the trail is a mixture of small passes, mountain tracks, some of which wander underneath cliffs and pass the Tsimkota lake, these lakes are known for its giant-sized trout. If weather permits, you can also see Mount Gangkar Puensum, one of the highest mountains in the Himalayan range. Camp at Phajoding, this is a great meditation place and there are number of houses dedicated to retreat. (the monastery buildings are gorgeous with golden roofs). Overnight camp. (Alt. 11,600 ft).
Day 05 :

PHAJODING - THIMPHU

It takes 2-3 hours to reach the road, descending through the forest on a well worn path. It is worth getting up early for the clear views of the eastern Himalaya. Quite often the valley below may be filled with clouds, with just the mountains poking up into the clear air. Meet at the road head by car and drive to hotel for lunch. After lunch drive to Paro.
